Yoga Outside

Enjoy practicing an all-levels, fun and friendly yoga class outdoors!  Mats provided and grab a towel on your way out. In case of rainy weather, the class is cancelled.

Yoga Philosophy: Wisdom of the Sutras

Much wisdom can be found in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, but diving into this ancient text is no easy feat without an experienced guide. Join yoga teacher and long-time student of yoga philosophy, Rhia Robinson, on a journey through the key teachings of the Sutras and learn how to apply them to modern life.

Session 1 on September 24, 2019
Defining classical Yoga and its link to stilling the mind.

Session 2 on October 22, 2019
Discovering the three different practice "paths” laid out in the Sutras.

Session 3 on November 5, 2019
Describing the citta, karma, samsara and how to avoid suffering.

Discussing what the Sutras say about best practices for asana, pranayama and meditation.

Yoga Pilates Fusion

A practice that combines the mind-clearing benefits of yoga with the toning power of Pilates that will stretch, strengthen and elongate muscles.  Expect to work deep; appropriate for both active beginners and more experienced practitioners.

Yoga Power

Push it. Work it. Yoga Power classes are challenging strength building, full-body blasts designed to build focus, endurance, and flexibility. This physically-intense practice moves at a steady pace through classical yoga poses to create a fluid, creative and energizing experience. Come with previous yoga experience and count on leaving with a sweaty sense of energy and empowerment.

A beginner-friendly, physically-mild practice of simple shapes and plenty of space for breath and being.
 

 
 

Yoga Stretch & Meditation

A beginner-friendly, physically-mild practice of simple shapes and plenty of space for breath and being. The 90-minute practice ends with a 30-minute guided meditation.  No prior experience needed. 

Yoga Stretch & Roll

'Want at simple way to feel great?  Sample this hybrid class combining the simplicity of Yoga Stretch with the massage of the Yoga Tune-Up Therapy Balls!  A beginner-friendly practice includes effective postures to lengthen typically tight muscles and simple, easy-to-learn rolling techniques with the therapy balls to increase blood flow and range of motion.

Yoga Stretch & Sound Journey

A beginner-friendly, physically-mild practice of simple shapes and plenty of space for breath and being.  This practice ends with a 15-minute crystal bowl Sound Journey to enhance deep relaxation.

Yoga Stretch Express

A beginner-friendly, physically-mild practice for the fit and inflexible to replace tightness with ease and suppleness. Get the stretch component of any well-rounded fitness regime and enjoy the chance to "stretch OUT, zone IN, and BREATHE!" No prior yoga experience needed.

Yoga Therapy

A beginner-friendly, physically-mild practice in a workshop-like format that combines a fair amount of anatomical info sharing with the actual poses and movement.  Class content is designed to recapture healthy range of motion in joints and create healthy stability for those who may have challenges getting up and down off the floor and chronic conditions that limit quality of life.  No prior yoga experience needed.

Yoga Therapy - REGISTRATION REQUIRED

A beginner-friendly, physically-mild practice in a workshop-like format that combines a fair amount of anatomical info sharing with poses and movement.  Class content is designed to recapture healthy range of motion in joints and create healthy stability for those who may have challenges getting up and down off the floor and chronic conditions that limit quality of life.  No prior yoga experience needed.

Yoga Therapy: Concentration or Dharana

This slow movement practice shares the same educational approach of Yoga Therapy with a twist of intentional concentration.  Focused attention to postures, breath-work, and somatic experiencing heightens awareness of particular sensations while creating space between stimulus and response.

Yoga Wall BEGINNER $40 Memorial Day Weekend

Get the stretch your body has always wanted this holiday weekend!  A practice on the Yoga Wall will lengthen your spine, release your shoulders and leave you feeling younger and taller. Beginner-friendly. Reservations made through The Houstonian app or via email to yoga@houstonian.com.

In this longer 75-minute Plus version of the Beginner Yoga Wall class, experience a full introduction to the spine-lengthening and joint-releasing system of Yoga Wall poses, preparing you to take intermediate-level Yoga Wall classes in the future.      
 
Limited to 6 participants.  
Reservations made through The Houstonian app or yoga@houstonian.com. 
Walk-ins welcomed as space permits.
