Class Descriptions - Aquatics

 

360 Degree Weight-Less

This advanced deep water workout incorporates horizontal and vertical movements that provide a constant challenge for the core. Aquatic belts are recommended. Appropriate for all levels who are comfortable changing from vertical to horizontal moves in the water.

Adult Open Water SCUBA

Become a certified Open Water Diver. SCUBA is great activity for the family to do together!!! Join a regularly scheduled class, create a private program or learn in your home coordinated with Houstonian instructors. Call Ann Keibler 713-523-3483 at Oceanic Venture.

Aqua Core Workout

Shallow and deep water workout focusing on the core. Stabilization of the back and abdominal muscles while strengthening the distal joints and muscles. Great abdominal workout.

Aqua Func

Doing functional exercises that will help with ADL (Activities of Daily Living). We will incorporate various strength training techniques, some with equipment. We'll learn to stabilize and strengthen the core enabling us to have better balance. Water shoes recommended.

Aqua Recovery

Tired, achy muscles? Stiff joints? Come let the warm water invigorate your mind and body. Muscular relaxation while stretching, and increasing your range of motion with simple joint exercises to get you moving again.

Aqua Splash Conditioning

Cardiovascular and resistance training are incorporated into this deep and shallow-water workout providing an invigorating, pain-free range of motion aquatic workout. All ages are welcome. Various Aquatics Equipment will be used.

Aqua Trekking (May through October)

A shallow water walking class with emphasis on gait training, balance and range of motion. Aquatic shoes are recommended.

Aqua Yoga Stretch

Basic Yoga poses are performed in a warm pool as the water supports your body for deeper stretches. This class is designed to help core stability, endurance, flexibility, and range of motion while leaving you in a feeling of tranquility.

Aquatic Kick Boxing Class (May through October)

An exhilarating shallow water workout using the Speedo aquatic kick boxers on legs and hands. Jabs, hooks, upper cuts and power kicks.

AquaTrex

Challenge yourself using water resistance in this 30-minute shallow water workout. Trek across the pool with light impact on your joints while working the upper body with resistance and revving up the cardio. This class is fun, fast and invigorating. Water shoes are required.

AWKA Force

This intense shallow water workout adds tons of force with the help of the Speedo Kick-boxers. This class is sure to rev up your cardiovascular system with plenty of intense powerful movement. Appropriate for those who can jump and run in the water. Aquatic water shoes are recommended.

BlueFins Swim Team*

Summer League Swim Team for children ages 5 to 14. May through June. Please see registration form for practice schedules. Swim Meets in June. Summer League Swim Team for children ages 5 to 14. Body in Motion

This 30 minute workout will have you moving through the water at various speeds and tempos. Different pieces of equipment will be used to for added resistance, core challenge and balance. Water shoes are recommended.

Circus Pool-ay

This shallow and deep water class features fun mermaid type movement. Learn the fluidity and flowing movements of Cirque du Soleil using balls, discs, etc. This class will improve your strength, dexterity, eye hand coordination and balance. Appropriate for all levels.

Deep Sport Conditioning (May through October)

This one-hour workout will maximize the benefits of cross training to improve athletic ability and sports perfomance. Working on flexibility, strength and core conditioning, this low impact workout will help improve balance, strengthen muscles, reduce joint pain and increase range of motion in some joints. Great for runners and anyone wanting an excellent toning class.

Dolphins Swim For Fitness*

Dolphins Swim Team is a fun, low key developmental program that focuses on stroke technique and conditioning for athletes ages 8 to 16. Kids will get a great foundation for entering school and summer swim team programs. Fee based class. 

Dynamic Yoga

Dynamic Water Yoga features 10 combinations that introduce a base move and then progress four times until ending in a yoga posture. This workout encompasses cardio, toning, yoga, stretching and balance.

Flex Joint

In our warmest pool, you will work on flexibility and range of motion “joint work,” from head to toe.
