Are you feeling run down, overwhelmed, and/or out of balance? You may be experiencing fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, or have trouble sleeping and told that everything is "normal” from your doctor. Stress, your gut health, and your lifestyle habits are deeply connected and almost always play a role in an integrative approach.
By now, you may have heard of something called the gut-brain connection. When the gut becomes imbalanced (stress, infections, poor diet, etc.), it can affect you both physically and emotionally.
Stress isn’t just mental, it’s biochemical. Stress, even perceived stress, affects the HPA axis (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis) affecting the release of cortisol. Most of us struggle with chronic stress, whether it is from work, poor eating habits, lack of or poor sleep, etc.
Chronic stress (cortisol release) can cause poor digestion, faster gut movement, gut microbial balances, and inflammation in the gut "leaky gut”. Basically, stress can cause a vicious cycle of gut dysfunction, inflammation, and more stress on the body.
Everything is connected. The key isn’t perfection, it’s balance. If you truly want to heal and feel better, you’ll want to address key lifestyle factors including sleep, exercise, and nervous system regulation. That’s where an Integrative Health Coach can help! An IHP Health Coach can address all these lifestyle factors and help create an environment your body needs to heal and restore!
