How is Membership at the Club?

The most common question I receive from our Members is, "How is membership at the Club? Are Members beginning to return?” I wanted to address that question in this article to put your concerns at ease.

Thank you everyone for your support during the pandemic. The Houstonian Club’s average attrition, during normal times, is 3%. The Club is featured in many industry magazines as one of the lowest attrition rates in the country and has recently been nominated as a Platinum Club of America, being one of two clubs in Texas. Click here to learn more about our Platinum Club designation. Ninety percent of that continual attrition is due to relocations. The other 10% is due to financial, non-use, expulsion, medical or death.

During the pandemic, 91% of our Members chose to remain active. This statistic is also very rare in our industry. Fortunately, we are located in a state that allowed us to reopen in early May 2020. We were also fortunate that we could provide many outdoor options for our Members with our climate and gorgeous, 27-acre campus. Of the 9% that chose to inactivate, 50% of those Members have relocated outside of Houston and the Club is no longer convenient. Forty percent of Members who have remained in Houston are reactivating each month.

This support from our Members is greatly appreciated and we are now in the middle of our 23.5 million dollar renovation, which will drastically elevate the Member experience. Please stop by the Club Renovation Showroom near the Welcome Desk to see all the exciting changes. Click here for renovation information.

The Club Membership initiation fees will increase by $3,000 for new applicants after the renovation is complete. All applicants must have a club sponsor. If you would like to refer a friend, family member or colleague, please click here or stop by the Membership Office during business hours.
